This is the first Gerber Folding Sportsman Engraved President’s Collection Series set of knives we have been able to acquire. Made by Gerber between 1979 – 1983 and limited to only 1000 sets – this is set 366. Each knife, the FSI, II & III all carry the same serial number as does the card signed by Pete Gerber. The set is pre-owned and except for a few slight and very small marks on the cover of the case, all knives are unused and only show some tarnish from age. Bolster are engraved brass with wood inlays. Blades are all Stainless Steel. When Gerber decided to make the Presidents Series they picked the best of the best materials and the wood (Cordia) on these knives is gorgeous. Each knife was hand engraved by Gerber’s master engraver. They were the very best of the best you could purchase. Definitely an investment grade set with a very limited quantity made.
