A truly rare find, this Vintage Gerber Mark I knife. These initially were made featuring a dark green handle and sheath which were first producted by Gerber back in the late 1970’s. After that they move to a dark black handle and black leather sheath. In the early 1980's – mid 1990's Gerber moved to an all cordura sheath.

This Mark I features a much earlier knife, probably made back in the late 1970's or very early 1980's before Gerber changed to an all cloth or cordura sheath. Also note that the serial number on the knife does not include any alpha characters - all numeric. As the production of Gerber Mark I knives increased Gerber was forced to move the a combination of alpha and numeric numbering. This knife serial number is 128732 and this knife is in MINT unused and unsharpened condition. Blade and handle exhibit no paint chips, scratches or spotting. Sheath is all leather and is also in Near Mint to MINT condition showing no damage or use. There are a couple of small marks near the left seam but they appear to be small natural marks in the leather.
